While our growth rate is higher than anticipated due to the unprecedented number of homes being built and sold, we’ve always known growth was inevitable. We know families seek us out for our academic excellence, our award-winning athletic and fine arts programs, and our commitment to doing right by the community and taxpayers we serve.
Just how fast is Forney ISD growing?
Only five years ago, Forney ISD had about 10,000 students and demographers estimated that our district would grow to over just over 11,000 students this school year. The actual enrollment number right now? Close to 15,000 students – a 25% increase over the projection.
Forney ISD is expected to grow to 20,000 students in the next 10 years.
In the last 5 years, more than 9,748 homes have been built across our entire district and another 28,204 home lots are currently approved for construction or in the planning stages.
The Dallas Morning News, Dallas Business Journal, Homes.com and many other media outlets report Forney ISD is one of the fastest growing school districts in Texas in the 3rd fastest growing county in the nation.
With our current rate of growth, in just 2 years we’ll be larger than Rockwall ISD, in 3 years larger than Allen ISD, in 4 years larger than McKinney ISD, in 5 years larger than Northwest ISD, and in 10 years larger than Mesquite and Mansfield ISDs.
